Located within a mile of San Antonio International Airport, AIT specializes in sheet metal fabrication, machining, metal finishing, and kitting.  Our team of skilled workers assembles machined and formed close tolerance aluminum, specialty alloys, and composite components.  With 45 employees located within a 320,000 sq ft facility, AIT features expertise in the following disciplines:

Sheet Metal Fabrication:  We deliver a broad range of fabrication capabilities, ranging from single-piece components to complex, multiple-quantity orders. Our capabilities include everything from tooling to engineering. We bend, draw, and stamp a myriad of materials such as aluminum alloys, stainless steel, and other metals.  To fabricate sheet metal components, our fabrication specialists use water jet, break press, hot forming, cold forming, and hydro-forming.

Machining:  Our machining capabilities range from 2-axis turning to complex 4-axis milling, using the latest tool technology, cutting techniques, and machining processes. High-speed machining pallet systems, robotics, lean manufacturing techniques, and inspection provide our customers with the lowest possible costs. State-of-the-art machining, CNC controls, programming tools, and highly trained operators ensure that the machined products we deliver meet the required specifications and exceed customer expectations.

Minor Assembly:  We are an industry leader in the assembly of multiple-detail components into larger subassemblies or finished assemblies. Our full-service operations include state-of-the-art facilities dedicated to assembly and integration of aerospace structures and are supported by dedicated project managers, engineers, and purchasing and production managers.  Our assembly experts employ a seamless, fully integrated approach to maximize quality, efficiency, and performance. Using sophisticated processes and procedures, we design and develop assembly processes, tools, and fixtures.

Processing:  Our chemical processing center supports aerospace and defense components and is NADCAP certified. Our team is skilled in chemical processing, prime and paint finishing, dry blasting, and heat treatment. Our finishing capacities will support products up to 35’ with chemical milling up to 33’. Our facilities can operate up to 3 shifts, and in conjunction with our existing production lines. In total, we have over 30 chemical process tanks of various sizes to accommodate a wide range of processing needs. In addition, we operate three Dry Blast machines, a 30 ft deep paint booth, and a heat drying machine that measures 8’H x 11’W x 38’L, with 9’ of usable width on the interior.
